WESTMINSTER LID-OVER-BODY ATTACHÉ RANGE HAND-MADE IN ENGLAND BY DAINES AND HATHAWAY
Classic English Lid-Over-Body Attache Case by Daines and Hathaway The Westminster Collection is exclusive to Sterling & Burke Ltd. These are classic lid-over-body attaché cases, handcrafted in the finest English bridle Hide. These extraordinary cases are a wonderful value. The construction is remarkable, the leather is superb. Their fantastic attention to detail is similar to what is more typically found with cases in a higher price range.

Created around a steel frame in both the lid and body, using traditional manufacturing techniques dating back to the 19th century when this design was first originated.

Lined in Beige or Green textured skiver leather and complemented with solid brass fittings and hand-made key locks.

Measuring approximately 18 by 13 inches in a three, four, and five inch version.

This case, originally was designed with an elaborate file in the lid. In an attempt to keep the pricing under $1,000.00 USD we have requested the production of this case to include the finest quality materials available, but with a simple file in the lid. We are pleased to offer these cases in traditional Dark London Tan, Chestnut, Havanna, and Black. Tan is the traditional Dark London Tan most think of with British Bridle Hide. It is a dark beige tan with an orange hue. Chestnut is more of a light brown with burgundy hues. Havana is a dark, dark chocolate brown. Black, is simply, Black. These cases are offered with solid brass, English Key Locks only. The Lining is offered in traditional Green as well as Tan Skiver Leather.

Are you familiar with Bridle Hide? If not, it is the most incredible leather; ...you cannot help but love the look. The patina that develops is like no other. This leather becomes dramatically more beautiful over time. It is a natural feeding hide. There is a wax in this leather that will rise to the surface that may be rubbed back into the leather. We will, of course, dispatch your case with our favourite polish to keep it looking lovely forever.

3 Inch Westminster Lid-Over-Body Attaché by Daines and Hathaway Shown in Chestnut Bridle Hide, measuring approximately 18 by 13 by 3 inches.

In an attempt to continue to offer especially favorable pricing, we have requested a slightly altered version of the original case we have offered over the years. Currently our Daines and Hathaway Lid-Over-Body Attaché Case is produced with a simple file in the lid as you will see in the interior photographs.

If you require a more complex file, similar to the prior design, please consider our Papworth Travel Goods range and our Swaine Adeney Brigg machine closed Lid-Over-Body range of Attaché Cases. We have had customers ask about the interior dimensions of this attaché case. If you have the case open, in front of you, and measuring the base of this case, at the bottom, the interior measurement from left to right is 17 3/8 inches and from front to back 12 3/8 inches. The interior height of the base measure 2 3/4 inches.
