Gentlemen's Brigg Umbrellas
AN EXCLUSIVE MIX of exquisite materials and rarefied expertise,
the Brigg umbrella has become an international byword for the very best
of British
craftsmanship. Cane handles are bent by hand using the
balance of eye and steam, embellished with either a gold plated or
sterling silver collar engraved with our Royal Appointment for
umbrella making. There are two different types of construction, a
"solid" where the handle and shaft is one continuous piece of wood or
a "two piece" where the shaft is made of Tulip wood and the handle
is that of a cane. The frame is made from fine oil tempered steel
to ensure even flexibility and unrivalled resilience against the fiercest of
weather. The springs are individually crafted from nickel silver and to add
strength, all ribs and stretchers are hand wired together.
THE BRIGG UMBRELLA COVER is made from the finest quality
nylon or waterproofed English silk. Again, it is the finer details which set the
Brigg apart: amongst them are lacquered metal tips, sewn on by hand,
and the fabric band which fastens with a real mother-of-pearl button.
WHEN ORDERING your umbrella you may consider a size to suit,
as the frame is available in three sizes,
size 25, 26,
and size 27. We would suggest that the standard size 26 frame is
perfect for a gentleman of of 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet
2 inches in height.
Ladies Brigg Umbrella
MANUFACTURED to the same exacting standards as the gentlemen's,
the ladies range of Brigg umbrellas also offers a choice of a "solid"
or "two piece" construction whilst using a smaller size 22 frame.
The beautifully crafted sterling silver handle umbrellas have been styled
to resemble that of antique ladies parasols, using a smaller
size 20 frame
and a longer handle. Black remains the most popular choice of nylon
and silk canopies, however, it you have another colour in mind,
please do not hesitate to inquire regarding your choice.
An engraving service on collars is available.
Brigg Golf Umbrellas
OUR COLLECTION OF BRIGG GOLF UMBRELLAS are
manufactured using the finest quality double rib frame,
able to withstand the severest of British weather. The size 27
frame is great for general use but the
size 30 frame offers good
protection for two people. The polished chestnut handles in either a crook
or straight style are finished with our distinctive Royal Warrant
collar on to which your initials can be engraved.
