Bridle Business Attaché Cases by Swaine Adeney Brigg

OUR MOST TRADITIONAL STYLE OF ATTACHÉ CASE, the lid-over-body design was originally designed early in the 19th century. The shape is constructed using a steel frame in the lid and the body. The Bridle Hide is bonded to vulcanized fibreboard and as shown above, completely hand-stitched with natural linen thread using a 'twin needle' saddlery technique.

Each case within this range is available to be produced with a choice of Traditional Dark London Tan, Chestnut, Havana, and Black Bridle Hide. Dark London Tan is a traditional English Tan, with a slight cast of peach. Chestnut resembles a fresh chestnut, a rich brown with a cast of burgundy. Havana is a very dark brown and resembles a coffee bean and Black is simply Black.

Linings include traditional Textured Green Skiver leather, as shown above, as well as Natural (Tan) Suede, and Bridle Hide. Bridle Hide lining is a 'self-lining' as shown in Black in the photograph below. Natural Suede is particularly handsome with the darker colours. Where you see our traditional Green Skiver Lining above, you would see a lovely medium Tan Suede. The trim will match the bridle hide exterior.

Currently this range of hand-stitched cases are produced with two pen loops as shown in this photograph. If you are interested in alterations to to file, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. We have had customers request larger pen loops, no pen loops, deeper files, additional files ...please let us know what will suit you best.

Each case is accompanied with a removable identification tag available with complementary personalization.

We feature four standard hand-stitched sizes and custom sizes:

SMALL measuring approximately 3.5 by 15 by 11 inches (ideally suited for personal use).

MEDIUM measuring approximately 3.5 by 18 by 13 inches.

LARGE measuring approximately 4.5 by 18 by 13 inches.

EXTRA LARGE measuring approximately 7 by 18 by 13 inches.

As these goods are hand made the height will vary slightly and may increase possibly increase by 1/8 of an inch. Recently we have received requests for selections that measure between our Large and Extra Large size. The depth of the case will alter between 5 and 6.5 inches. We are delighted to let you know these special sizes are currently available to be produced with an additional fee of $500.00.

The pricing includes traditional textured green Skiver lining or Natural Suede lining and Solid Brass Key Locks. Combination Locks, although discouraged, are available with an additional fee.

Polished Nickel Fittings and Key Locks is a fantastic look. The Nickel is quite bright, similar to English Sterling Silver and very popular, especially with Black Bridle Hide. Our Polished Nickel, unfortunately, is no longer offered with combination locks.

Bridle Hide Lining (Self-lining) is our most elegant interior. Typically the interior bridle hide colour is the same as the exterior, although it is not necessary. If you wish to view photographs offering all bridle lining, please click here.

Should you wish to have your case personalized, we are pleased to do so. Initials may be burned into the case just below the handle on the body of the case. This would be a blind stamp, ...similar to an embossing and without gold. This type of personalization must take place during production and is available with an additional fee. Alternatively, we are pleased to offer complementary personalization of your removable identification tag. In the photograph of the black case just above, the removable identification tag is attached to the handle on the left side, a small leather key bell protects your key. Please note: your key will not required to open your case, it will be available to lock your case should you need be.

Bridle Hide cases, when new, will have a cloudy, milky cast to it and will require polishing. Each case will be polished to perfection, personalized and gift-wrapped (if requested) by Sterling & Burke prior to dispatch. Please let us know if you have a preferred method of delivery. Typically with our customers outside America have their goods dispatched to them via the United Postal Service. Goods shipped within the States are generally dispatched via FedEx Ground.

As these goods are hand made the height will vary slightly and may increase possibly increase by 1/8 of an inch. We are finding that several of our cases have actually meaured up to 4.75 inches in depth.

Recently we have received requests pieces that are deeper than our standard Large Size and thinner than our 7 inch size shown below.

We are delighted to let you know these special sizes are currently available to be produced with an additional fee of $500.00.

Several customers have requested this piece without the centre board and have used this simply for documents.

If you wish to have the file in the lid altered, please let us know. We have, in the past produced this case with additional files as well as without files. Each piece will be produced to your specifications.

Personalization may take place during production on the body of the case just below the handle or on the removable identification tag. The identification tag is shown to the right side of the handle, it is a key fob that is shown on the left side of the handle.

Our Pinched Corner Style Lid-Over Body Attache Case with Traditional Textured Green Skiver Lining.

This fabulous piece is produced on a metal frame and measures approximately 4.25 by 18 by 13 inches.

Shown in Black Bridle Hide with Textured Green Skiver Lining, brushed brass fittings and Key Locks. Also available to be produced in Dark London Tan, Chestnut, and Havanna Bridle. We are also pleased to offer Natural (tan) suede interior. Although we are currently without a photograph to offer you, we are hoping you can imagine what a dramatic look this is, especially with the darker colours.

You may wish to consider production with Bridle Hide interior. The entire interior will be covered with the same elegant Bridle Hide you have on the exterior.

This magnificent, hand-stitched attache with pinched corners, is a slender and very elegant case.

Available in one size only. We have, in the past, been able to request production of cases slightly thinner and slightly wider. If you have a particular request, please let us know. Each case is completely hand made and will be a little different from the next.

This may be produced with Bridle Lining as shown or with Traditional Green Skiver Leather as shown just below.

Shown in Dark London Tan Bridle. Also available in Chestnut, Havanna, and Black Bridle.

Complementary personalization is available on the removable identification tag. The corners of this case are quite special. They are 'pinched' and hand-stitched.
